Dogs
Rule! - October 20, 2005
"...MarthaBlog
- Act Locally..."
You
may think that after 3 years, and with our Catahoula Leopard
Dog, Wayman Wynn, to help us
keep having fun, that memories of Martha Jane might fade a bit.
Not so. There have been many changes in the world and in our
lives, but the legend of MJ grows globally. We have been contacted
by Cattle Dog partners and many others who have seen this site,
and are curious about MJ or her breed. We have continued publishing
pictures and links to some of Martha's Friends, and are often
amazed at the similarity in the shared experiences with MJ's
cousins, from all over the world.
"...Think
Globally..."
War
and weather and other things "W" will come and go,
but the loyalty, love and comedy that dogs bring to our lives
can not be measured. True is true to a dog, not 'spun' into
temporary factoids by talking heads striving for today's 15
seconds of TV coverage. Dogs don't care if you're blue or red,
left or right, up or down. They care about more important things,
like "When do we eat?" or more importantly, "When
do I eat?"
I
have finally
updated the website with a little more stuff, and organized
it a little differently. As fancy as the World Wide Web gets,
it is still the information and pictures that makes the Internet
so powerful. Check out the new pictures of Fritz,
who is our European rep.
"...Onward,
Through the Fog..."
There
was (is?) a great poster and record (head) shop in Austin, Texas
called Oat Willie's, and the self-advertising bumper sticker
they distributed said "Oat Willie's - Onward, Through the
Fog". (Actually the title comes from the Oat Willie Comic
poster - See Oat
Willie, by Gilbert Sheldon). So that's where we're headed.
Martha Jane and friends will keep on truckin' along, even though
it's been a long, strange trip. We will keep this website up,
she will be with everyone. When we're gone, her pictures and
stories will go on. So send us your stories and pictures of
Martha's friends, we will share them on the website...
And
she is still the sweetest girl dog ever born. (Wayman Wynn has
ascended to be the winner on the boy dog side.)
