A Year

"...Not
Fade Away..."
It
has now been a year since MJ went on her way. Our new Catahoula
Leopard Dog, Wayman
Wynn, has helped us keep our memories of Martha Jane strong.
It has been another year of change and growth, and as Martha
Jane has settled in to her new role as "Moonraker and Sunset
Maker", we have settled in to living with and sharing her
memory with Wayman, our "little boy in a dog suit."
We
occasionally accuse Wayman Wynn (WW) of channeling Martha, he
seems to know us so well - what we will put up with, and how
far he can push us, before he gets in trouble. He can push us
pretty far, I'm afraid, because he seems to have taken up MJ's
role where she left off, as chief consultant to our whole organization,
and all our projects. Of course, he is Head of Ranch Security,
which he inherited from "Aunt Martha", as he calls
her.
"...Love
bigger than a Cadillac..."
When
I put these pages together as a tribute to Our Blue Dog last
year, I did to help me cope with the loss, but also because
we wanted all who would read it, to see what a beautiful "pure
heart" she was. We tell people about her whenever the subject
of dog-people comes up, and we have gotten many notes about
Martha Jane and these pictures and words about her. They say
that once a web page or picture gets out on the Internet for
a while, it will exist somewhere forever. That is fitting for
these pictures of Martha 'Calamity'
Jane - "Our Blue Dog".
"...Love
is Love - Not Fade Away..."
So
Martha Jane will always be with us as long as we live, and as
long as I can keep this website up, she will be with everyone.
And when we're gone, her pictures will go on, just like the
robust Australian Cattle Dog (ACD) breed that made her so loveable,
and tough. As folks around the world contact us with stories
and pictures of their ACD's, we will share them on Martha Jane's
website, for the pleasure and inspiration of "BlueDog"
fans everywhere (See Fritz).
Although the brightest stars sometimes leave us too soon, burning
out beause they are so intense, we know that just like the Buddy
Holly song, Martha Jane will not fade away...
And
she is still the sweetest dog ever born.
